Yesterday, we headed over to the boys school for their 4th of July parade. I took the day off thinking it was a bit of a program, but it just turned out to be a 10-minute march and song routine. They even got to eat popsicles at the end of the program. I'm not complaining. Plus, it was good to see the boys singing the songs they had been practicing.
John has been singing patriotic songs for the last month or so. Nicholas would join in every so often in his singing, but we all know that John is the more musical of the two. His particular favorite is "Grand Old Flag". It reminded me of singing that song back in school programs at Our Lady of Peace.
Nicholas didn't participate in the march because he was a little too shy. John was a real trooper unlike the Christmas parade where he ran away and cried in the corner. As you can see, he really enjoyed the singing and marching. Plus, the boys got a firecracker popsicle at the end of the school day.
BTW, if you look closely, you'll see a note on the video about John's girlfriend. She's a sweet little girl.
