For the last 6-months, Nicholas has been asking about a big boy bed like Johnny's. It seemed as if he wanted a big boy bed almost as much as he wanted a Penguin Dream Lite. It had been getting worse and worse. During his nightly "Airing of the Grievances", he'd always throw in, "When am I going to get a big boy bed? I'm a big boy. I don't like my baby bed. It's too small." Mind you, it's a toddler bed, so it's not huge, but it also isn't tiny. There's more than enough room for him in there. To make a point, he's been sleeping on the floor next to the toddler bed for the last couple of weeks. He has a hard head much like me.
Thankfully, Grammy was kind enough to get a big boy bed for Tsar Nicholas last week. After they dropped John off at school on Monday, they headed over to the bed store and he was able to pick it out. He even went to Target to pick out some really neat dinosaur sheets. When I got home from work on Monday, he was excited to tell me that his bed was coming on Wednesday.
When it was delivered on Wednesday, he climbed up on top of it and said, "This is my big boy bed. I am a big boy." Maureen was kind enough to dress his bed and add all his friends to them. Mind you, his friends start in his bed at the beginning of the night, but as the evening progresses, they somehow wind up on the floor as he thrashes about. It's quite entertaining to watch him sleep in his bed. He rolls and moves around so much that you'd think he were awake.
